What was your experience of coming out as an LGBT+?
Relatively pain-free - and a relief!
What was the definitive moment in making this decision?
Realising I could admit to liking Ken and not feel guilty about it, and that others felt the same way.
What questions do people need to consider before coming out?
Safety - particularly political issues.
What are your favourite books/art/films about coming out?
“Beautiful Thing” - still makes me cry
Based on your individual experience what advice would you give to someone wanting to come out?
Being honest about who you are and how you feel will also be the biggest step you take - but life is not a Disney movie, so think whether you’ll be safe to do so, and try to get to a safe place/ensure you have support before taking this big step.
