Improving LGB&T competence
This workshop provides a robust introduction to working with LGB&T service users. It allows participants to explore their own knowledge of issue affecting these communities and consider effective ways of engaging and working sensitively with LGB&T individuals.
What it covers
It also covers basics of good practice, legislation and the Equality Act and Public Sector Equality Duties in relation to the Act’s ‘protected characteristics’ of sexual orientation and gender reassignment.

Ideal as a refresher this course is ideal for all staff and managers working with LGB&T people in a wide range of services such as substance misuse, housing, mental health, sexual health and generic support as well as anyone seeking to improve their knowledge of issues affecting LGB&T people.
